Start2Move continues to build for the future with the sale of a majority stake to Club Training Concepts International.
PRESS RELEASE: Zwolle, Wednesday 20 November 2019
Training institute and market leader Start2Move has sold a majority stake to Club Training Concepts International. Club Training Concepts International is the parent company of brands including ClubJoy, Virtual Training Concepts and FitSnacks.TV.
Start2Move founder and spiritual father Jelmer Siemons will remain with the company as shareholder, advisor and Development Director. The current General Manager Michel Looye will start as General Manager of Start2Move.
Jelmer Siemons: "I approach this new step with great confidence. There is an excellent synergy, both on a personal and professional level, and it offers our students, customers and business contacts even more opportunities in the field of (further) education and career development in the fitness, health and sports industry.
For me personally, it offers the opportunity to work a little less in the company and a little more on it. In my new role, I will be working primarily at a strategic level to help Start2Move
to further growth. I will also be working on (international) partnerships, the Start2Move Football Academy and as an advisor to management.
Director and owner of Club Training Concepts International Marc Neijland: "With the participation in Start2Move, a long-cherished wish to start training has come true. Start2Move was the obvious choice for us to enter into a strategic partnership. First of all because Start2Move's vision and progressive approach have made it the market leader in no time. In addition, the relationship with Jelmer and Michel is strong and goes back many years. Start2Move will continue to operate autonomously as a training institute. However, there are very good opportunities for our businesses that we will make the most of. I am proud of this milestone and look forward to the inspiring partnership. I can't wait to push forward together in the development of the company and the collaboration!"
In the transaction, the HDD Group is the exiting shareholder of Start2Move and will (again) own 100% of LAPT International BV.
